Downtown New Milford hosts numerous events and festivals annually that showcase the Town’s vibrant arts scene and community spirit. There’s always something happening here, from outdoor concerts to art shows to holiday parades.

Whether it's for that special evening out, a quick lunch break or a family breakfast of pancakes and eggs, Downtown New Milford offers a plethora of choices.   It's restaurants range from the casual to the upscale.  Seasonal outdoor seating makes for great people watching.  Residents and visitors alike flock here for a wide-range of cuisines - Italian,  Mexican, Fusion, American, BBQ and more.  

As one of the oldest towns in Connecticut, our Downtown is rich in history and contains the New Milford Center Historic District,  listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its many buildings reflect the town’s diverse architectural history and surround the Town Green, which dates to 1707. The New Milford Historical Society and Museum is an excellent place to start exploring. Visitors can explore historic buildings, churches, and landmarks that tell the story of the Town’s past.

New Milford Farmers Market is held on the Village Green each Saturday from May to October, offering fresh produce, baked goods, and other local products. It’s a popular gathering spot, often featuring live music and other entertainment.

The Town Green,  which spans several blocks in Downtown New Milford, is considered the longest in the state.  It is the hub for a range of events throughout the year.  These include art and cultural festivals, live music,  and  community gathering.  It is the centerpiece for New Milford's Historic District.

Downtown New Milford is home to diverse independent shops, many of which offer one-of-a-kind items and experiences. From health food to jewelry and vintage clothing, there’s something for everyone here.
