Annual Events

GOAT Days, a tribute to New Milford as the Greatest of All Towns, is held each May on Young's Field.  It features food from a variety of food trucks, carnival rides, pony rides, crafts and other activities, as well as farm animals, including baby goats, bunnies and other animals from local farms.  Organized by Goat Boy Soaps, its proceeds benefit New Milford non-profit organizations.

The New Milford Arts Festival is a juried showcase of the work of talented artists and artisans from the area. It’s a great way to explore the Town while discovering new art and meeting the people who create it.

Maple Weekend in CT is held in March throughout Connecticut. New Milford's Sullivan Farm opens it sugarhouse for guided tours of the historic time periods of maple sugaring.  It’s a great way to experience the small-town charm of New Milford.

Tree Lighting Ceremony in December on the Village Green features live music, food vendors, and visits with Santa Claus. The streets of downtown New Milford come alive with thousands of twinkling lights, making for a magical holiday experience.

RiverFest takes place along the banks of the Housatonic River and highlights the heart of our community. Attractions include live music and entertainment, food trucks, vendors, a beer-and-wine garden, arts and crafts, Children’s activities, a River Run, and more. This free event is held in early October every year because of volunteer efforts.

Great Housatonic Duck Race is held on Memorial Day on the Housatonic River at Young’s Field after the Memorial Day Parade. The Rotary Club sponsors this festive fundraiser.
